Biridu was excised from Leopold Downes pastoral station lease on Bunuba country. It was one of the first Bunuba communities that stemmed from Junjuwa community.
It was funded in the later days of ATSIC.
Recently Biridu hosted the Western Australian government’s Regional Service Reform Unit over a 2 day meeting to illustrate the importance of communities and culture and living on country.
Biridu community people run Bungoolee Tours which offers an opportunity for tourists to visit Bunuba country’s Tunnel Creek and Winjana Gorge.
Our communities are alive and full of stories about how they came to be and why that place in country is important for health and culture.
