Kurlku is a very remote community located in the Great Sandy Desert. The Walmajarri ranger program frequently uses the amenities there when they conduct important work for country.
The late Jimmy Pyke who was an artist established the community. It started out modestly with a bore and basic shelters in the late 80s.
Our communities are alive and full of stories about how they came to be and why that place in country is important for health and culture.
